Some are of the opinion that this case could create precedent for BDSM to be legally protected as a sexual orientation. The idea of that fascinates me. It isn't something I would ever have thought to suggest, yet in a lot of ways it does fit the bill.

What are your thoughts?

I think that the board will likely find a way to reprimand the Constable for poor judgment and skirt the issue of Paganism and BDSM. Whether or not Mr. Purple Crow (?) is entitled to any money for lost wages is debatable, however he will more than likely get the license.

If it isn't affecting his job performance, it's none of his employers' business.

The constable was letting his own personal biases ("you're one of them whips and chains weirdos, aren't ya?") affect his decision-making, which was a poor decision on his part from an HR standpoint.
